They don't make 'em like this anymore. These buildings represent a time that when you went to see movies you knew you were letting yourself in for a magical reprieve from the minute you passed through the ornate door.
Los Angeles has many such 'movie palaces' still in use. Here are but two snapshots I took on impulse:
on the corner of Wilshire and Western
on Hollywood Blvd across from Kodak Theatre
